Our window films provide you with a clear view out...actually enhancing your view by reducing annoying glare without making it seem dark in your home. Tinted windows can reduce the heat coming into your home by as much as 83%. During the winter this same window film insulates the glass and helps retain heat.

What Causes Fading?
Fading damage is caused by UV light, visible light, heat (including infrared light), artificial lighting indoors, humidity and poor dye anchorage. The first three cause about 90% of general fading. UV, visible light and heat all pass through ordinary glass and can cause damage to goods and furnishings in offices, retail shops and museums. Ultraviolet light is also reflected off hard surfaces and can do damage over time even in areas of little or no direct sunlight.
How do window films reduce fading?
Window film can reduce the effects from these elements and help protect our homes and furnishings from fading. Window films are specially designed to help protect your home furnishings, objects displayed in museums, shop windows and similar environments. Window films filter out 98-99.9% of ultraviolet radiation, reject infrared heat, and reduce visible light transmission, yet still provide a room with sufficient sunlight. Window films can range from clear to dark. Typically, the darker the film the more protection you will have against fading. In most cases, compromises will be made to accommodate aesthetics and the customer’s preference. The perception of a dark or silvery window film tint is not necessarily the case for residential and commercial applications any longer.

Products that are affected the most:
Wood: Natural wood finishes are much more stable than stains or finishes which alter the color of the original wood. Some woods may actually darken with prolonged exposure to UV rather than fade to a lighter color.
Fabrics: Results differ depending upon fiber type, type of dye and color, and stability and/or pattern printing techniques. Fabric cost has no bearing on the degree of fade damage and expensive fabrics may be as vulnerable to fading as less expensive fabrics.
Artwork: From photographs to paintings, tapestries to wood sculptures, certain media will fade more rapidly than others. A watercolor, for example, is far more vulnerable than an oil painting. A tapestry of bright bold colors may deteriorate more rapidly than a solid wall hanging. To be safe, never place art in direct sunlight.
While no film can completely eliminate fading, window films can help reduce the major causes and lessen premature fading, preserving your draperies, furnishings and flooring.
